I’m a moral philosopher at the University of Missouri-Columbia. My research areas include normative ethics, meta-ethics, and Kant’s moral philosophy. I am the author of Self-Improvement: An Essay in Kantian Ethics (Oxford, 2011), co-editor (w/Michael Smith) of Passions and Projections: Themes from the Philosophy of Simon Blackburn, (Oxford, 2015) and (w/Mark Timmons) Reason, Value and Respect: Kantian Themes from the Philosophy of Thomas E. Hill, Jr. (Oxford, 2015), as well as papers in moral philosophy in Ethics, Philosophical Quarterly, and Philosophical Studies
I am an ecumenical philosopher, motivated almost entirely by curiosity. So I have no allegiances to any view or way of being a philosopher.
